“Seamless” – a word often used but seldom really achieved in 1920s Character alteration work.
So often we come across homes that have been “done up” at some point in time, and what was to the owner at the time a big investment and important refresh for their family, is often viewed in hindsight as “a bit of a disaster” because it just wasn’t designed well, or the builder didn’t really understand the architecture.
This project has certainly been modernised by Character Builders; it is amazing – open and functional, and very appealing for the age we live in, but the inclusion of timber floors, clean lines and simple classical profiles means it will age gracefully, without the telltale wrinkles of a botched ‘enhancement’.
